Josiah Palmer writes worship songs for the conversations we’re already having with God. He’s been leading worship since he was 15 and spent 11 years as a worship pastor, but these days he’s finding his place somewhere between the local church and the artist world. His songs are centered on Jesus while making room for the whole conversation of faith, doubt, mental health, grief, joy, and everything else we bring with us when coming before God.
Josiah is interested in finding new language for truths the Church has been singing for generations. His writing is conversational, sometimes turning an old phrase sideways to see if there’s another way into it. Musically, he’s exploring what happens when modern pop, R&B, and indie influences find their way into congregational worship. At the center of that exploration is a simple idea: a worship song should give a church words for what it already knows, feels, and wants to say to God.
